Cheboygan County Humane Society's Mission:

The Cheboygan County Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals and finding homes for adoptable homeless animals. The Society is responsible for implementing Cheboygan County’s animal control program and operating the County’s animal shelter.

The Society’s Goals:

• Prevent cruelty to animals in all its forms by providing rescue, housing, feeding, and medical attention for lost, stray, injured, or abandoned animals.
• Investigate complaints of cruelty brought to our attention. If cases of cruelty are not resolved through education, then offenders are prosecuted.
• Promote respect for animals and awareness of human responsibility for their welfare through educational school presentations and general information to the public through print media and the Society’s website.
• Maintain the dignity and defense of our goals through effective and meaningful interaction with communities throughout the counties we serve.

Here’s how it works:

Once your $99 entry fee has been sent to book your dog’s spot, we’ll capture their unique personality in a fun, professional mini-session designed to highlight just how special they are. Afterward, one photo of your pup will enter the Pooch Playoffs Competition, where friends, family, and dog lovers alike can vote for their favorite furry contender. You'll also receieve a sWag bag full of goodies from our sponsors, just for entering!

The competition will unfold in rounds, beginning on (Monday) March 16th, with top dogs advancing until we crown the Ulti-Mutt Cutie & Pooch Playoffs Champion! Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to invest in stunning artwork of your dog, and the chance to win brag-worthy prizes from local sponsors while making a difference for animals in need. It’s a tail-wagging good time for a great cause. Your donation will give CCHS the ability to purchase necessary supplies and cover medical expenses for pets in our local shelter!
